I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was admitted into the hospital at 9am on Bryce's bday [3.25.09], which was 6 days after my due date. I labored for 14 hours at the hospital, pushed for an hour, before the Dr decided that it would be safest to deliver via c-section. Our beautiful blue-eyed baby boy was born at 12:08am on 3.26.09. That day has changed our lives tremendously. We both feel truly blessed to be parents to this amazing little man. Connor turning 1 was a bit emotional for us, but if the next stage in his life is even half as amazing as the first, than it should be a pretty good adventure.
Me, Bryce & Connor spent the day together on Friday to celebrate Connor's bday as our little family of 3. We took Connor to the MN Zoo, came home to open presents and eat cake & then went out to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory to celebrate both Bryce & Connor's birthdays. It was a really fun day.
We hadn't been to the zoo since the fall, so this time around Connor was a lot more alert and attentive to the animals. It was even more fun to walk around all by himself! It was a long day, though, so Connor & daddy enjoyed some cuddle time before heading to bed.
We celebrated Connor's birthday with family & friends on Sunday, March 28. We had lunch, opened presents and then ate some cake. Connor got scared when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him, so he wasn't interested in his cake at all! The poor kid missed out on the best part of the day! Actually, we gave Connor a cupcake on his actual birthday and he wasn't interested in it that day either. Maybe he just won't be a sweets person...
Connor has had a fun week so far playing with all the cool new toys he got. He was spoiled with new toys, clothes, outdoor toys, a kiddie pool, and even a lawn mower - just to name a few things.
All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. A big Thank You to everyone who came to Connor's bday party. It meant a lot to us.
Connor has his 12-Month check up on Friday, so I'll post his stats along with his 12-Month picture with Mator soon!
